Profile Overview:

  • The Data Scientist I role at Zebra Technologies involves designing, developing, and programming methods, processes, and systems to analyze unstructured, diverse "big data" sources.
  • Responsibilities include generating actionable insights and solutions for client services and product enhancement.
  • Interaction with product and service teams to identify data analysis questions and issues.
  • Support in the development and coding of software programs, algorithms, and automated processes to cleanse, integrate, and evaluate large datasets from multiple sources.
  • Identification and communication of meaningful insights from data analysis and experiments to product, service, and business managers.
  • Creation and support of analytical models focusing on predictive and prescriptive analytics.
  • Development of visual graphics to analyze historical data and display trends.
  • Evaluation of third-party analytics algorithms and frameworks.
  • Integration of statistical models into Zebra’s platforms, products, or services in collaboration with the software development team.
  • Performing data analysis to diagnose customer-specific issues and improve analytics.

Qualifications:

  • Educational Background:
    • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. degree in statistics, mathematics, computer science, or related discipline preferred.
  • Experience:
    • 0-2 years of relevant experience.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Statistics modeling and algorithms.
    • Machine Learning experience, including deep learning, neural networks, and genetic algorithms.
    • Working knowledge of big data technologies such as Hadoop, Cassandra, Spark, and R.
    • Hands-on experience with data mining and data visualization tools, including R.
    • Preferred experience in sensors, IoT, and the mobile industry.
  • Communication Skills:
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Comfortable presenting to senior management and CxO level executives.
  • Personal Attributes:
    • Self-motivated and self-starting with a high degree of work ethic.

    • Less than 10% of the time.
