Profile overview:
This role is part of the Credit and Fraud Risk (CFR) division, specifically within the AiDa Product team in the Global Data Science CoE.
The primary goal is to power seamless, data-driven decision-making capabilities for fraud prevention and credit risk reduction across the company.
The analyst will contribute toward creating and refining AI/ML-based products that enable advanced risk insights.
The position involves collaborating with engineers, UX designers, and decision scientists to create tools used across the American Express ecosystem.
Key aspects of the role include defining product strategy, executing innovative ideas, and building scalable machine learning solutions with global impact.
Job responsibilities:
Contribute to the creation of long-term product strategies with defined business metrics.
Own and manage product backlogs, prioritizing features based on evolving AI adoption and stakeholder requirements.
Work closely with business stakeholders to identify high-impact problems and translate them into data science solutions.
Support every aspect of the product lifecycle including market research, roadmap planning, and product rollout.
Develop clear and detailed product requirement documents with testable outcomes.
Collaborate with engineering teams to build production-grade AI/ML solutions.
Work on transforming initial concepts or MVPs into scalable products.
Contribute to designing training programs and delivering technical workshops on AI, Hive, Spark, and cloud services.
Develop and validate proof-of-concept solutions for high-value AI/ML use cases.
Promote new product features internally to drive user adoption across teams.
Qualifications:
Undergraduate or master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, IT, or related fields from reputed institutions.
Solid foundation in data science principles including model development lifecycle and model governance.
Strong coding and scripting skills using Python and SQL for data analysis and automation.
Ability to analyze large datasets using tools like Hive, BigQuery, and PySpark.
Exposure to model deployment platforms such as Vertex AI or other GCP AI services.
Understanding of ML algorithms such as regression, classification, boosting, and decision trees.
Familiarity with notebook-based interfaces like Jupyter and orchestration tools like Airflow.
Knowledge of big data technologies and building reusable ML frameworks.
Experience with project management platforms such as JIRA, Rally, and Confluence.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present ideas to technical and non-technical audiences.
High levels of self-motivation and a strong sense of ownership.
