Profile Overview

The Data team at SABIC's Global application performance technology (GApT) supports specialty businesses in digital transformation initiatives. They seek a skilled data analytics specialist/scientist to contribute to end-to-end analytics projects and drive insights. This role is crucial in advancing data-driven decision-making and enhancing material informatics and customer experience programs at SABIC Specialties R&D. The ideal candidate possesses mathematical and statistical expertise, coupled with curiosity and creativity. From predicting polymer properties to understanding customer behavior, the candidate will engage in multifaceted data analytics projects, contributing to the growth and exploration of the data team.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant field required; a graduate degree in Data Science or a quantitative field is preferred. Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in statistical analysis and programming using Python/SQL. Additional certifications or training in applied fields such as Machine Learning, Data Engineering, or Optimization Algorithms are advantageous.
• Experience: A minimum of 1+ years working as a data analyst or data scientist, with previous experience in academic or research environments preferred. Strong background in exploratory data analysis, data quality management, and preprocessing using Python/SQL is essential.
• Technical Expertise: Candidates should have experience in building machine learning models, including deep learning models, and familiarity with generative models is beneficial. Proficiency in data preparation tools (e.g., Pandas, NumPy) and ML libraries such as PyTorch, PySpark, Tensor Flow 2.0, SciPy, Scikit Learn is preferred. Additionally, proficiency in data visualization using Python or BI tools like PowerBI is desirable.
