Profile Overview:
- The Statistical Data Analyst will play a pivotal role in advancing the data-driven goals of the Office of Decision Support (ODS) at USF.
- The position focuses on supporting the Student Success and Research Analytics (SSRA) unit.
- Key responsibilities include creating data collection instruments, conducting academic program reviews, and producing actionable insights through visualizations.
- Collaboration with the Director of SSRA and other units within ODS is essential for successful execution of projects.
- This role directly supports compliance with accreditation standards, such as those from SACSCOC and BOG.
- The candidate will also produce tailored reports leveraging tools like Excel, Power BI, Tableau, SAS, and SQL.
- Beyond technical tasks, the analyst will assist in campus-wide initiatives to foster student success.
Qualifications:
Minimum:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in a field related to research or data analysis.
- Alternatively, 4 years of equivalent relevant experience in place of a Bachelor's degree.
- Experience:
- Candidates with a Master’s degree can meet the experience requirement with less duration.
Preferred:
- Advanced Education:
- Master’s degree in fields involving quantitative data analysis.
- Technical Expertise:
- Proficient use of Excel, Power BI, and Tableau for data visualization.
- Familiarity with tools like SAS, SPSS, and Minitab for statistical modeling.
- Specialized Knowledge:
- Experience working with academic rubrics and assessing student learning outcomes.
Responsibilities:
Data Collection and Analysis:
- Design and implement instruments and tools for collecting data aligned with academic program reviews and student success metrics.
- Ensure data tools comply with accreditation standards from SACSCOC and BOG.
Coding and Documentation:
- Maintain and update code used in organizing datasets across multiple systems.
- Develop and document coding standards that align with ODS protocols.
Reporting and Visualizations:
- Extract data from diverse sources and generate insightful reports using visual aids like graphs, tables, and charts.
- Utilize tools such as VBA, Java, SQL, and Tableau to present data effectively.
Collaboration and Campus-Wide Support:
- Work closely with various ODS units to address data requirements and visualization needs.
- Provide support for academic program reviews and campus-wide student success projects.
Miscellaneous Duties:
- Perform additional tasks as assigned, ensuring seamless operations across all USF campuses.
Additional Info:
Hiring Salary Range:
- $68,000 to $72,000 annually, reflecting competitive compensation for the role.
