Profile Overview

  • As a Data Scientist at HiLabs, you will:
    • Work closely with stakeholders, product managers, and data engineers to address critical healthcare problems.
    • Develop scalable machine learning solutions tailored to HiLabs' products and services.
    • Be a key player in transforming healthcare by leveraging data science to solve real-world challenges.
    • Innovate and refine AI/ML algorithms for practical applications in healthcare solutions.
    • Lead data-driven decision-making by providing actionable insights from large datasets.
    • Stay updated with the latest advancements in AI/ML, ensuring that HiLabs' solutions remain cutting-edge.

Responsibilities

Data Science and AI/ML Development

  • Utilize advanced AI/ML techniques to identify and address complex healthcare challenges.
  • Develop, deploy, and optimize machine learning solutions for massive datasets using big data technologies.
  • Prototype AI algorithms and create software tools to enhance healthcare solutions.
  • Improve and scale existing machine learning and deep learning solutions.

Data Analysis and Insights

  • Conduct quantitative analysis across diverse datasets to derive meaningful insights.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to extract required data and provide insights aligned with business needs.
  • Build and deploy additional functionalities tailored to client requirements.

Leadership and Mentorship (For Lead/Senior Roles)

  • Lead teams of Data Scientists, developers, and clinicians to strategize AI-based solutions for healthcare problems.
  • Train and mentor teams on the latest advancements in machine learning technologies.

Qualifications

Educational Background

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
  • Preference for candidates from Tier-1 institutions.

Technical Expertise

  • Proficiency in software development (Scala preferred).
  • Hands-on experience or academic exposure to machine learning and text mining algorithms.
  • Strong foundation in statistical techniques, linear algebra, and numerical optimization.
  • In-depth understanding of ML theory, including bias-variance tradeoff, regularization, and loss functions.

Additional Skills

  • Familiarity with A/B testing and machine learning best practices.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to non-technical audiences.
  • Proven capability to frame operational problems in healthcare as technical challenges solvable through advanced research.
  • Ability to independently learn and adopt new technologies and tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with deep learning frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Keras.
  • Expertise in interpretability of deep learning models.
  • Hands-on knowledge of big data platforms such as Hadoop and Spark.
  • Familiarity with text mining techniques, including entity extraction, summarization, and anomaly detection.
  • Exceptional software development skills for maintaining production-quality code.
