Profile overview:
The Junior Program Associate will play a vital role within the Integrated Transport Program.
This position is focused on the SHIFT Transport Initiative, which supports India’s decarbonization journey.
Responsibilities include managing diverse projects related to sustainable urban mobility and transport electrification.
The associate will balance quantitative and qualitative research tasks to influence policy and practice.
Technical involvement includes developing and maintaining web applications related to transport analytics.
Candidates will be expected to produce visualizations, analytical tools, and data-driven frameworks.
The role demands synthesis of policy documents, literature, and government data to support organizational objectives.
Communication is a key aspect, involving the preparation of reports, policy briefs, and stakeholder presentations.
The associate will engage with a broad community of researchers, government officials, and partner organizations.
This is a one-year term hire, providing an opportunity for impactful work on systemic transport reforms.
Qualifications:
Possession of a Master’s Degree in Transport Engineering, Transport Planning, Economics, Social Science, or Public Policy.
Between 0 to 2 years of full-time professional work experience gained post-Master’s degree.
Specific experience in transport planning, city bus systems, last-mile connectivity, or policy research is preferred.
Demonstrated proficiency in writing and communication is required for professional documentation and reporting.
Strong experience in qualitative and quantitative research methods, including primary and secondary data collection.
Hands-on expertise using spatial analytical tools such as ArcGIS or QGIS is highly desirable.
Familiarity with data processing and visualization through programming environments like Python, R, or Excel is an advantage.
Ability to perform policy analysis to identify gaps and develop actionable areas for reform.
Proven track record of academic writing or publishing high-quality research outputs.
Candidates must provide writing samples to demonstrate their ability to communicate complex ideas effectively.

The offered salary range for this role is between INR 7,50,000 to 9,00,000 per annum, commensurate with experience.
