Position Summary:

Every day, there are 8 billion interactions with our recommendations. That's 5 million per minute! Our models and experiments yield astonishing results rapidly. Our learning loop measures in hours and minutes, making this one of the fastest model-learning environments globally. Our infrastructure enables scalable and rapid model deployment. As data scientists, we collaborate closely with our engineering colleagues to facilitate model deployment. Coupled with an expanding variable set comprising hundreds of features (and counting), this is a fertile environment for building, experimenting, refining, and achieving real impact with your models. When models succeed, the bottom-line impact on our teams is immediate, and the value of your work becomes apparent very quickly.

The Experience You'll Need:

  • The foundational requirement is a strong mathematical aptitude and proficiency in data science languages and tools like Python or Apache Spark.
  • Proficiency in big data processing and cloud computing is essential in this environment.
  • We welcome diverse academic backgrounds, provided you have the aptitude to think and problem-solve like a data scientist. Our team comprises individuals from various academic fields, including engineering, mathematics, computer science, physics, economics, and social sciences.
  • A bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Economics, Analytics, or Data Science.
  • At least 7 years of experience in the Ad Tech industry, working in Data Science teams, applying algorithms and techniques from Machine Learning, Statistics, Time Series, or other domains to solve real-world problems, especially on large datasets.
  • Proficiency in software programming and statistical platforms such as R and Python.
  • Comfortable with the big data ecosystem, with experience in Apache Spark being a plus.
  • Effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong technical and business communication skills, with the ability to present technical ideas to business counterparts effectively.
  • Experience in the Gaming business is a significant advantage.
  • Possess a high degree of curiosity and the ability to rapidly learn new subjects and systems.

The Impact You'll Make:

  • You will lead the data science efforts for the IDI (Identity, Data Infrastructure and Intelligence) Platform at InMobi. This involves project ideation, conceptualization, solution design, measurement, solution iteration, coaching, deployment, and post-deployment management.
  • Your role includes designing, developing, and testing product experiments. You'll guide the team in practical experiments, product design, model development, and model evaluation, with an emphasis on agility and rapid iteration to deliver go-to-market ready products.
  • Hands-on analysis of data, model design, model development, and problem-solving will be integral to your role.
  • Our team encourages thought leadership in the sector, promoting the authoring of blogs, commentary, and case studies published on the InMobi blog. We also support team members to speak at industry conferences and represent InMobi's work.
  • You'll learn to design and build models for specific business problems. Before that, you'll be responsible for identifying areas where AI can provide the most significant business impact. You'll learn how to anchor model design in the business context and end-user needs, connecting model impact to measurable business outcomes.
  • You'll work in a multi-functional team environment, collaborating with a diverse group of individuals from engineering, product, business, campaign management, and creative development.
  • You'll have the opportunity to experiment with multiple algorithms, learn from launching and reviewing their performance, and adapt them to specific business challenges. Our environment facilitates this at a rapid pace.
