Profile Overview:

  • The Analytical Data Operations (ADO) team at Verisk’s ISO division ensures the effectiveness of the largest P&C insurance database in the US.
  • ADO focuses on refining data to support pricing in the US property and casualty (P&C) insurance market.
  • The team consists of data analysts, engineers, BI developers, and actuarial experts collaborating on various data operations.
  • Core responsibilities include data ingestion, integration, transformation, analysis, and BI development.
  • The team is dedicated to improving the analytics platform that underpins critical US P&C industry products.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in STEM fields such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or related areas.
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in SQL and MS Office for daily operations.
    • Experience with programming languages like C++, Java, Python, or R.
  • Abilities:
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently and manage concurrent projects effectively.
    • Eagerness to explore technology and maintain a growth mindset.

Preferred:

  • Prior experience in property/casualty insurance or data-focused roles.
  • Familiarity with data management principles and BI/data visualization tools.
  • Knowledge of Snowflake, Power BI, and Sigma is advantageous.

Responsibilities:

Data Analysis:

  • Analyze insurance data to identify trends, anomalies, emerging patterns, and quality issues.
  • Develop and automate processes to enhance data quality and detect errors efficiently.

Technology and Collaboration:

  • Utilize SQL, Excel, and tools like Snowflake, Power BI, and Sigma for data operations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to enhance access and understanding of core data assets.

Insurance Expertise:

  • Build expertise in insurance coverages, actuarial methodologies, and analytic models.
  • Contribute to conversations about industry trends and company data practices.
