Role Overview:
ConcertAI is seeking a skilled Clinical Scientist specializing in Oncology Trials to contribute to the identification of key oncology data indicators related to disease progression, treatment efficacy/failures, and prognosis. Collaborating with the data science team, trials analysts, and informaticists, this role involves label creation to facilitate the featurization of ML models for predicting patient eligibility scores. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in the field of oncology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a scientific leader within the DTS tech department.
- Contribute to new product/feature development.
- Collaborate with the clinical delivery team to understand prescreening methodology and develop logical reasoning techniques for technology-driven pre-screening.
- Define rules supporting NLP/ML techniques used at ConcertAI.
- Offer subject matter expertise for model utility, formulation, feature engineering, and results analysis.
- Collaborate with data scientists, statisticians, NLP engineers, and software engineers to develop models.
- Validate model outputs to meet desired quality metrics.
- Maintain customer-facing documentation and communicate with clients to assist in model utilization.
- Explore structured and unstructured EMR data to identify leverageable patterns.
- Assist in developing SOPs for new data onboarding.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or master’s degree in clinical science, MD, PhD in medicine, genetics, molecular biology, oncology, or in an Engineering field with work experience in biology/healthcare domains, along with proven experience in a relevant field.
- Expertise in the Oncology space as a clinician or medical monitor, preferably with heme-related cancer experience.
- Strong knowledge of oncology and cancer biology; familiarity with electronic medical records and taxonomies is desired.
- Thorough understanding of oncology disease progression, outcome predictions, prognostic indicators, etc.
- Ability to utilize clinical data points to define clinical pathways and project disease progression.
- Experience with EMR/EHR data is a plus.
- SQL experience is a plus.
- Preferred experience in the clinical trial development process, especially in oncology.
- Strong customer communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively using remote tools.
- Familiarity with agile development and concepts such as databases, programming, statistical modeling, machine learning, and data visualization is preferred.
