Profile overview:

This role is part of the Analytics and Innovation (Ai) team, a strategic unit focused on solving enterprise-level challenges using data-driven methodologies.
The Associate - Data Scientist will contribute to large-scale business transformation by integrating cutting-edge machine learning techniques into operational processes.
As part of the Ai team, you’ll collaborate with multiple business domains like Airport Operations, Contact Centers, Revenue Management, and Human Resources.
Your work will directly support strategic initiatives by translating business goals into automated, analytical models that optimize processes and improve outcomes.
The team works cross-functionally, blending technical skills with business acumen to connect the dots between departments and generate enterprise-wide impact.
You’ll be involved in model development, data analysis, business insight generation, and working alongside engineers and data architects.

Qualifications:

A bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Math, Statistics, or Economics is required.
Internship or full-time experience in data science or analytics projects will be considered an added advantage.
Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in Python or R, along with a solid command of SQL and Excel.
Understanding of statistical principles and the ability to apply them to solve real-world business problems is essential.
Exposure to common machine learning models such as Random Forests, Gradient Boosting Machines, XGBoost, and Clustering methods like KMeans is preferred.
A deep curiosity and comfort in working with large datasets are required for this role.
Communication skills are critical, especially the ability to break down complex ML models into insights understandable by business stakeholders.
A collaborative mindset and the ability to work within diverse teams is expected.
Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure is a plus but not mandatory.
A master’s degree in a related domain or exposure to NLP and deep learning will be considered beneficial.

Job responsibilities:

Extract, clean, and prepare data from various operations across the organization for model building and business insights.
Design, implement, and validate machine learning models to support a variety of business use cases.

Ensure efficient data migration between platforms and maintain models in production environments.
Regularly monitor deployed models for accuracy, performance, and scalability.
Conduct research on the latest AI/ML methodologies and share relevant knowledge across the team to encourage innovation.
Translate analytical results into clear business recommendations and present findings to stakeholders.
Support ongoing projects by partnering with data engineers and business teams to ensure delivery timelines and business needs are met.
Actively engage in improving the team’s workflow and building best practices for reproducible and scalable analytics.
