Role: As an Azure Data Engineer at Gainwell, you’ll be instrumental in managing and optimizing data pipelines, enhancing data flow, and supporting a scalable data infrastructure within Azure environments.
Primary Skills:
- Expertise in ADF pipeline management for ETL processes.
- Proficiency in SQL programming, especially within MS SQL Server environments.
- Skilled in issue resolution, troubleshooting, and performance optimization in Azure environments.
- Strong understanding of testing and validation methods to ensure data integrity.
- Experience in automation of data processes to streamline workflows.
- Ability to identify and implement process improvements for data efficiency.

Build and manage ADF pipelines for CI/CD processes ensuring seamless integration and deployment.
Configure multi-stage pipelines across development, testing, and production environments.
Track and monitor pipeline health, performing corrective actions to maintain optimal performance.
Design and implement monitoring processes for both system and pipeline health.
Integrate data from multiple sources, including SQL databases and third-party APIs to support various operational and reporting needs.
Set up infrastructure for ETL processes using Azure and MS SQL technologies.
Identify and execute automation tasks within the ADF framework to improve process efficiency.
Configure Azure Monitor to track essential metrics, logs, and alerts for Azure resources.

Run and manage SQL programs within Azure environments to maintain data accuracy and performance.
Handle query optimization and troubleshoot issues within relational databases.

Conduct root cause analysis and debugging to address application performance issues.
Collaborate with the Azure IT team to resolve issues related to memory usage and performance bottlenecks.
Ensure minimal downtime by providing rapid response to critical system errors.

Create and enforce monitoring rules and alerts for system reliability.
Analyze logs from Azure resources to identify and mitigate performance issues.
Implement logging solutions for CI/CD processes to ensure smooth system operations.

Carry out testing and validation of data pipelines and infrastructure to ensure readiness for production deployment.
Work closely with IT and development teams to conduct functional, performance, and regression testing.

Coordinate with IT to manage access controls, updating permissions as necessary and overseeing user management.
Maintain detailed documentation of current pipelines, security settings, and refresh processes.
Set up various security protocols to maintain data privacy and comply with security standards.
Participate in architecture reviews and audits to suggest enhancements and ensure compliance.
Collaborate on developing a unified Azure transformation strategy, focusing on governance, security, automation, and operations.

Assist in monthly data refresh plans to keep infrastructure updated.
Document all data pipeline configurations, workflows, and operational procedures.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Relevant Azure certifications such as Azure Data Engineer Associate (or equivalent).
Experience with Azure DevOps for managing CI/CD processes, including pipeline setup and monitoring.
Proficiency in Power BI for data visualization and reporting.
Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, and Azure SQL Database.
Strong foundation in ETL processes and data integration methods.
Familiarity with Azure Log Analytics for querying and analyzing logs from various Azure resources.
Understanding of Azure infrastructure and resource management.

Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration across teams and with stakeholders.
Strong attention to detail and proactive approach to issue identification and resolution.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.

Willingness to work evening shifts to maximize collaboration with US-based teams.
Keen eye for details in monitoring, troubleshooting, and execution of data pipelines.
