Profile overview:

As a Data Scientist within the Microsoft Azure Storage team, you will embark on a journey of innovation and problem-solving. You will work with vast amounts of data, employing machine learning techniques to derive insights and solutions that drive decision-making for both the team and customers. Your role will involve collaborating closely with engineering teams, product managers, and business leaders to integrate intelligence into the storage service, ultimately contributing to the mission of empowering individuals and organizations globally. Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related field AND 1+ year(s) experience in business analytics, data science, engineering, software development, data modeling, or data engineering work or internship experience OR Master's Degree in Computer Science, Math, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field OR equivalent experience.

Other Qualifications:

• Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role.
• Strong background in querying with traditional and big data repositories (e.g., MS SQL server, SQL Analysis Service, Azure SQL DB/Data Warehouse, Azure Kusto, MS Fabric/Synapse).
• Proficiency in data visualization skills to present insights effectively and drive business impact.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Math, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field AND 2+ years experience in business analytics, data science, engineering, data modeling, or data engineering work OR Master's Degree in Computer Science, Math, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field OR equivalent experience.
• Experience in developing tools and pipelines for efficient data collection, cleaning, and preparation.
• Familiarity with statistical analysis methods and tools for organizing and analyzing data.
• Experience in coding for product features, services, or features, with the ability to reuse code effectively.

Responsibilities:

• Data Collection and Exploration:

  • Assist with initial data collection and determine appropriate analysis techniques and tools for data exploration.
  • Develop a foundational understanding of methodology and standard statistical options for analyzing and organizing data.

• Advanced Data Analysis:

  • Work with large, complex data sets, applying advanced data science methods to solve difficult, non-routine analysis problems.

• Data Preparation:

  • Apply or develop tools and pipelines to efficiently collect, clean, and prepare massive volumes of data for analysis.

• Modeling and Design:

  • Understand modeling techniques used within the team and run model tools on prepared data sets.
  • Support the identification of dependencies and contribute to the development of design documents for product features.

• Code Implementation:

  • Create and implement code for product features, services, or features, leveraging reusable code where applicable.
