The IN Data Engineering & Analytics (IDEA) team serves as the central hub for all data engineering and analytics endeavors across Amazon India businesses. This team's responsibilities encompass providing Unified Data and Analytics Infrastructure (UDAI), catering to various business streams like Payments, Finance, Consumer, and Delivery Experience.

Responsibilities of a Data Engineer

As a Data Engineer, your primary responsibilities will include:

  1. Designing and Implementing Data Solutions: Crafting data and analytics solutions to cater to the unique requirements of Amazon India. This involves managing massive data infrastructure and ensuring scalability to meet evolving analytics needs.

  2. Ensuring Data Quality and Compliance: Implementing solutions that adhere to the Best At Amazon (BAA) standards for data availability, consistency, and compliance.

  3. Collaboration and Interface: Working closely with other technology teams to extract, transform, and load data from diverse sources using SQL and AWS big data technologies.

  4. Driving Operational Excellence: Fostering a culture of operational excellence within the team by building automation and mechanisms to streamline operations.

  5. Facilitating Data Exploration: Enabling efficient data exploration and experimentation on large datasets while implementing robust data access control mechanisms.

  6. Scalable Infrastructure Development: Designing and implementing scalable and cost-effective data and analytics infrastructure to support not only India but also other emerging marketplaces and worldwide use cases.

Day-to-Day Activities
