Job Description

Your Way to Impact

As a Data Scientist within the FSI team, you will play a crucial role in identifying complex fraud patterns and developing investigative tools to combat financial fraud. Your work will contribute to enhancing fraud risk controls, recovering funds, and deterring fraud by collaborating with law enforcement agencies.

Responsibilities

Tracking Fraud Trends

  • Analyze disparate fraud signals to develop a comprehensive view of fraud trends across PayPal and its adjacencies.

Developing Investigative Tools

  • Research and integrate new components into FSI's advanced linking framework to identify fraud actors across the enterprise.

Algorithm Development

  • Utilize programming expertise to test and deploy new algorithms that enhance fraud detection capabilities.

Data Visualization

  • Develop statistics and data visualizations to quantify and assess the impact of control gaps on the platform.

Technical Expertise

  • Serve as a technical subject matter expert for GI, sharing new data mining techniques and maintaining technical documentation.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to communicate analytic findings effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Requirements

  • Proven track record of owning and driving large, complex data analysis projects.
