Your Impact:

As a Data Science Tech Lead Manager in Trust, you'll collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, designers, and operations agents. Together, you'll build scalable systems that effectively identify, prevent, and mitigate fraud at Airbnb. Your role in developing real-time risk detection services will be pivotal, demanding a comprehensive understanding of evolving attack vectors to maintain Airbnb's status as a secure and trusted community.

In this position, you'll be at the forefront of technological progress, leveraging cutting-edge technology like deep neural networks, large language models, and reinforcement learning to fortify Airbnb's defense system. Your responsibilities extend beyond leadership, encompassing active involvement in technical tasks as needed.

A Day in Your Role:

• Deep understanding of Machine Learning best practices, algorithms, and domains.
• Industry experience in building end-to-end Machine Learning systems.
• Directing a team of data scientists to leverage advanced ML/AI technologies for risk detection.
• Experience with test-driven development, A/B testing, and incremental delivery.
• Collaboration with cross-functional teams to define labels for model training and optimize manual review processes.
• Devising optimization models for optimal business decisions while minimizing risk.

Your Expertise:

• 8+ years of industry experience with an advanced degree in a quantitative field.
• 5+ years of management experience in developing machine learning models at scale.
• Understanding of modern machine learning techniques and their mathematical foundations.
• Proficiency in SQL and one of the tools such as Python, R, etc.
• Demonstrated ability to create and drive technical roadmaps for impactful business results.
• Passion for management and creating opportunities for team members' career growth.
• Clear and effective communication skills across varying technical levels.
• Relevant trust and fraud mitigation experience is a plus.

Your Location:

This position is US - Remote Eligible, with occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed with your manager. You must reside in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity.

How We'll Take Care of You:

This role offers a base pay ranging from $185,000 to $245,000 USD, with potential eligibility for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.
