As a component of the Data organization, the machine learning infrastructure team has the responsibility of developing a machine learning platform - Pro-ML. This platform empowers LinkedIn's AI professionals to effortlessly build, deploy, and maintain ML solutions, thereby significantly enhancing their productivity. We are seeking engineers who are enthusiastic about simplifying complex tasks for data scientists, AI engineers, and researchers. In collaboration with AI engineers, you will comprehend their approach and develop software to facilitate their goals in a reproducible and error-free manner.

As a software developer in Machine Learning Ops, you will have the chance to contribute to one of the most scalable AI platforms globally. Simultaneously, you'll collaborate with our accomplished teams of researchers and engineers to develop your career and personal brand in the AI domain.

We are seeking engineers with expertise in the following areas:

1. Model Health Assurance: Monitor AI workflows at various stages of the AI lifecycle and create systems capable of intelligently identifying and assisting in the resolution of problems.

2. Model Productionalization: Simplify the deployment of models uniformly across all LinkedIn products for AI engineers. Develop an end-to-end platform for seamless model deployment and validation, aiming to enhance iteration speed and reduce turnaround time for AI engineers.

Responsibilities:

• Construct and manage platforms powering AI systems at LinkedIn, ensuring a 24/7 production environment for AI researchers to iterate on robust, fault-tolerant, and user-friendly infrastructure.
• Offer high-quality internal technical support and documentation to enhance the experience of working with our infrastructure.
• Collaborate closely with technical leadership groups to advocate and implement best engineering practices for large-scale, cross-functional, and company-wide critical programs.

The ideal candidate for this role should:

• Possess experience in building large-scale data-driven systems or platforms.
• Have experience in building or working with a machine learning platform.
• Grasp the fundamentals of machine learning, ideally in both academic and industry settings.
• Demonstrate a passion for building simple, user-friendly software systems.

Basic Qualifications:

• BA/BS Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or relevant practical experience.
• 1+ years of experience in software design, development, and algorithm-related solutions.
• 1+ years of experience programming in OOP languages like Java, Python, or C++.

Preferred Qualifications:

• MS or PhD and 1+ years of relevant work experience.
• Experience in building machine learning platforms at a large scale.
• Familiarity with techniques used in big data and AI.
• Proficiency in distributed data processing technologies.
• Experience with industry, open-source projects, and/or academic research in large-data, machine learning systems, such as Spark, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or XGBoost.
