Job Description:

Position Overview:

As a Senior Data Scientist at ACKO, you will play a crucial role in collaborating with Engineering and Product teams to design and implement AI models across various Lines of Business, including Life, Health, Auto, and Embedded insurance. Your responsibilities will involve leveraging machine learning techniques and open source frameworks to transform data into production-ready AI models that align with business objectives. You will be at the forefront of building scalable solutions, ensuring rigorous model testing and reporting, and addressing complex challenges in ML development.

Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Develop and enhance the processing pipeline using advanced ML/DL models, open source frameworks, and proficiently write production-grade code in Python.
2. Establish strong collaborations with cross-functional teams, creating prototypes for use cases, communicating AI model limitations, and assisting the engineering team in preparing models for production.
3. Conduct robust experiments, implement mechanisms to assess model efficacy, drive improvements, and set benchmarks for model performance to meet customer experience requirements.
4. Facilitate the seamless transition of models from ideation to production, ensuring scalability, configurability, and long-term development readiness.
5. Stay abreast of the latest industry trends, integrate best practices, and continuously evolve models and methodologies.

Technical Requirements:

1. Minimum of 5 years of experience in data science, with a proven track record of delivering production-ready solutions, including at least one deployed at a large scale.
2. Proficiency in Python, Pandas, Github, SQL, and other relevant technologies for writing production-grade code.
3. Clear understanding and expertise in building models using ensemble methods, tree-based methods, and deep learning models.
4. Expertise in NLP, including the use of Large Language Models (LLMs) for creating new applications, is desirable.
5. Demonstrated experience in bringing models from raw data to production-grade models, with a focus on edge cases and failure scenarios.
6. Exceptional problem-solving skills, thriving in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
7. Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate data stories for cross-functional teams to leverage in the long term.
8. Keen interest in leveraging LLMs for analytical and predictive applications, staying ahead of industry advancements.
9. Exposure to the insurance or finance sectors is advantageous, and experience in D2C or B2C industries is preferred.
10. Bachelors and Master’s degree in Engineering with a strong foundation in computer science, statistics, mathematics, or a related discipline.
