Position Overview:

We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join our global technology company, renowned for operating the world's fastest payments processing network. In this role, you will play a key part in the Targeting Analytics program within the Data & Services team. This program focuses on Credit Risk, Portfolio Optimization, and Ad Insights, utilizing cutting-edge technologies to enhance analytic capabilities and develop scalable big data processes.

Responsibilities:

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will:

• Lead the scoping, design, and implementation of complex features
• Push the boundaries of analytics and develop powerful, scalable applications
• Design and implement intuitive, responsive UIs for enhanced data and analytics understanding
• Build and maintain analytics and data models to enable performant and scalable products
• Ensure a high-quality code base through the writing and reviewing of performant, well-tested code
• Mentor junior software engineers and teammates
• Drive innovative improvements to team development processes
• Collaborate with Product Managers and Customer Experience Designers to understand users and use cases, applying that knowledge to feature scoping and development
• Collaborate across teams with passionate peers to achieve shared goals

Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

• 3+ years of data engineering experience in an agile production environment
• Proven experience leading the design and implementation of complex features
• Experience leading large projects and collaborating with other data and software engineers
• Strong technological aptitude with a willingness to learn new technologies and frameworks
• Proficiency in Python or Scala, Spark, Hadoop platforms & tools (Hive, Impala, Airflow, NiFi, Scoop), SQL for building Big Data products & platforms
• Experience in building and deploying production-level data-driven applications, data processing workflows/pipelines, and/or implementing machine learning systems at scale in Java, Scala, or Python
• Familiarity with SQL, Multi-threading, Message Queuing & Distributed Systems
• Knowledge of Splunk or other alerting and monitoring solutions
