Who You'll Collaborate With
You will be a part of the McKinsey Client Capability hub in Gurugram, specifically within the Panorama Financial Institutions Center (PFIC). PFIC is a prominent global hub for knowledge and expert consulting, operating as a key component of the FIG practice. With over 295 team members spanning across 30+ locations worldwide, PFIC primarily focuses on various financial service domains, including retail banking, corporate and investment banking, wealth and asset management, fintech, and insurance, among others. The payments team within PFIC is equally renowned, boasting over 15 members based in Gurugram, New York, Waltham, and Frankfurt.
What You'll Be Responsible For
As a member of the PFIC payments team, your role will revolve around assisting consulting teams in their client engagements by fulfilling research needs related to payments. Your responsibilities will include aggregating data from various sources, crafting unique insights, preparing client-facing materials, and tackling ad hoc tasks as they arise. You will be tasked with conducting both primary and secondary research within the payments domain, drawing from proprietary and third-party data sources. Your key accountability will be to present research findings in a format suitable for clients, such as PowerPoint presentations and financial models.
With time, you'll be expected to build expertise in the payments domain, drive research and innovation, and contribute to the development of broader knowledge and proprietary assets. Furthermore, you'll actively engage with the global PFIC community, establishing relationships worldwide to expand your knowledge base and provide support to the broader network as necessary.
Qualifications
- Hold an MBA in Finance or Economics from a reputable institution, with 0-1 years of professional experience.
- Possess a strong grasp of payments concepts, along with knowledge of financial products and/or banking operations. Familiarity with industry issues and competitive trends is advantageous.
- Exhibit proficiency in advanced Excel, including the ability to create macros and regression equations, in addition to possessing strong analytical skills. Familiarity with tools like SQL, SPSS, Tableau, and Alteryx is a plus.
