Profile Overview:
The Associate Analyst role is part of the Loyalty team under the Marketing function.
The team manages United’s MileagePlus program, one of the largest loyalty programs in the aviation industry.
This role contributes to strategic decision-making through analytics and data-backed insights.
The analyst is expected to deliver value through data-driven customer engagement, revenue optimization, and cost-efficiency projects.
It is ideal for early-career professionals looking to work at the intersection of aviation, marketing, and analytics.
You will work with various teams including Data Engineering, IT, and Enterprise Data Science.
The position provides exposure to reporting, data cleaning, statistical analysis, and dashboard creation.
Strong analytical reasoning, communication skills, and an understanding of loyalty marketing will be essential.
The role reports to the Manager, Marketing and Loyalty Data Analytics (CSC).
Candidates should be proactive, adaptable, and committed to solving real-world business challenges using data.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in engineering from a recognized university
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to understand business problems and convert them into analytics use cases
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis
Comfort with PowerPoint for presenting data insights
Strong foundational knowledge in SQL to query large datasets
Hands-on experience with any of the following tools is highly preferred: Teradata SQL Assistant, Microsoft SQL Server, or Oracle SQL Developer
Understanding of statistics and data modeling is advantageous
Good communication skills in English, both written and verbal
Must be organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities
A collaborative attitude and willingness to learn from team members
Must be legally authorized to work in India without any visa sponsorship requirements
Successful completion of the interview process is mandatory for selection

Core Responsibilities:
Participate in loyalty program analytics projects that support decision-making
Help define strategies to improve customer engagement and increase loyalty metrics
Develop SQL-based queries to gather data from multiple sources
Automate and manage dashboards using visualization tools like TIBCO Spotfire
Maintain reporting structures and define metrics for consistent evaluation
Use statistical tools to perform analysis such as regression, clustering, and classification
Present insights in PowerPoint format to stakeholders and leadership teams
Assist with ad-hoc data analysis and scenario-based planning
Communicate regularly with cross-functional teams including IT, Data Engineering, and Data Science
Support marketing campaign evaluations through descriptive and predictive models
Ensure that data sources are clean, reliable, and accurately interpreted
Regularly monitor KPIs related to loyalty campaigns and marketing performance
Coordinate with US-based teams on global campaigns and measurement approaches
Required Skills and Tools:
SQL (strong working knowledge)
Python or R (basic proficiency or willingness to learn)
SAS (preferred but not mandatory)
TIBCO Spotfire or any dashboard tool (e.g., Tableau, OBIEE, Brio)
Microsoft Office Suite – Excel and PowerPoint proficiency required

Familiarity with basic statistical models and concepts
