Qualifications:

Educational Requirements:

  • Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or related field.

  • Preferred: Master’s Degree in Data Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or related domain.

Technical Skills & Expertise:

  • Strong expertise in Ab Initio, including developing, maintaining, and optimizing ETL workflows.

  • Ability to design and implement data integration solutions using industry best practices.

  • Experience in handling large-scale structured and unstructured datasets across multiple sources.

  • Proficiency in SQL and database management for efficient data processing and storage.

  • Knowledge of cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or IBM Cloud is advantageous.

  • Hands-on experience with big data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, and Kafka.

  • Understanding of data modeling and database optimization techniques.

  • Experience in implementing data validation and quality assurance processes within Ab Initio.

  • Ability to troubleshoot, optimize, and fine-tune ETL processes for improved efficiency.

  • Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, Shell scripting, or Java.

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience:

  • Expertise in optimizing Ab Initio graphs to enhance performance and reduce resource utilization.

  • Strong collaboration skills, with experience working alongside data analysts, database administrators, and quality assurance teams.

  • Ability to document processes, best practices, and technical solutions to improve team efficiency.

  • Prior exposure to agile methodologies and DevOps practices in data engineering.

  • Hands-on experience in automating ETL workflows to improve efficiency and scalability.

  • Experience in working with distributed data processing frameworks and parallel computing.

  • Knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes for data engineering applications.

  • Strong analytical skills to assess business needs and translate them into effective data solutions.

  • Experience in data security, encryption, and access control policies for secure data management.

  • Ability to train and mentor junior data engineers in best practices and emerging technologies.
