Profile Overview :
- The Applied Scientist intern role at SatSure involves working with a diverse team of data scientists, geospatial experts, and platform engineers. As an intern, the individual will focus on tackling real-world geospatial data science problems, particularly related to Earth Observation (EO) data. They will apply their machine learning skills to develop cutting-edge solutions for various EO applications, such as Land Use and Land Cover (LULC) analysis, crop classification, satellite image time-series (SITS) classification, and more.
- The role offers the chance to work on next-generation ML applications that push the boundaries of State-of-the-Art (SOTA) in complex geographies. Key responsibilities include defining data science metrics, proposing and validating scientific hypotheses, and owning end-to-end solutions from data collection to model validation. Qualifications :

- Strong understanding of machine learning (ML) and computer vision is required, with specific expertise in models such as Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs), Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM), and Transformer architectures. Familiarity with advanced ML techniques, including Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs), Contrastive Learning, and Semi-Supervised Learning, is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with ML frameworks like PyTorch is essential, as well as proficiency in Python for developing and training large-scale models. Familiarity with SQL, Spark, or MLOps technologies is an added advantage.
- Candidates should have a solid track record of solving novel problems and demonstrating innovative solutions through academic or industrial research. Prior publications in top-tier conferences like ICLR, CVPR, or NeurIPS are a plus.
