Job Responsibilities

Leadership and Collaboration

• Lead a team of data scientists in collaborative efforts with product, business analysis, and MLOps teams.
• Streamline data science processes and workflows, ensuring efficient development and deployment of models.
• Foster collaboration with MLOps to facilitate the transition from development to industrialization phase.
• Provide support and guidance to data science developers in code development and redevelopment.

Model Development and Deployment

• Oversee DS model development and redevelopment tasks, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
• Lead model tuning efforts to enhance performance and accuracy.
• Enforce proper code standards and documentation practices, facilitating transparent and replicable processes.
• Conduct regular code reviews and establish robust testing and evaluation frameworks.

Production Support and Optimization

• Develop and maintain production-grade code for quick rollout and scalability.
• Plan and conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for identified issues, ensuring timely resolution.
• Create monitoring plans for production environments to ensure system stability and performance.
• Support user acceptance testing (UAT) activities and serve as a contingency resource for development tasks.

Architectural Design and Implementation

• Design a common code base for efficient rollout in new markets, emphasizing modularity and configurability.
• Implement well-designed data abstraction and parameterization strategies to support scalability and adaptability.

Technical Skills

Data Science Expertise

• Possess a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in data science.
• Strong knowledge of machine learning and statistical modeling techniques.
• Experience working in cloud-based environments such as GCP, Azure, Amazon, or Databricks.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, and Spark.

Technical Proficiency

• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.
• Experience with GCP platforms and services, including BigQuery, Cloud ML Engine, and Cloud Storage.
• Familiarity with version control tools such as GitHub for managing code, data, and machine learning models.

Development and Planning

• Demonstrated experience in development planning and project management.
• Ability to adhere to coding standards and develop reusable services.
• Track record of end-to-end data science project delivery, from conceptualization to deployment.

Non-Technical Skills

Problem-Solving and Solution Design

• Proficient in solution designing and critical thinking.
• Ability to analyze complex problems and propose effective solutions.

Domain Knowledge

• Familiarity with ecommerce domain concepts is considered advantageous.

Education and Certification

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• Equivalent educational background or relevant industry certifications are acceptable.
• Completion of the "Fractal Data Science Professional Certificate" is recommended.
