Role Overview:
- This position falls under the Community Support team at Airbnb, which is dedicated to providing an exceptional experience for guests and hosts alike.
- As a Business Analyst, your primary responsibility is to conduct comprehensive analyses and generate insightful reports to support the Community Support business.
- You will collaborate closely with departments such as Operations, Product, Engineering, and Finance to address the data needs of Community Support and contribute to the enhancement of customer service.
Daily Responsibilities:
- Utilize Airbnb's vast data resources to gain deep insights into Community Support operations. Identify trends, root causes, and actionable insights to continuously improve service quality.
- Analyze complex business problems and translate them into clear analytical problem statements. Employ suitable frameworks to derive actionable insights and craft compelling narratives to effectively communicate findings and recommendations to key stakeholders.
- Design and execute A/B experiments to test hypotheses, leveraging statistical analysis to draw conclusive results. Develop monitoring dashboards to track key performance indicators related to experimentation.
- Develop automated dashboards to streamline repetitive tasks, enhancing operational efficiency and allowing for more time to focus on strategic initiatives.
- Ensure effective communication by providing timely project updates to stakeholders, fostering transparency and alignment across teams.
- Actively participate in knowledge-sharing sessions and forums to exchange ideas and best practices, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning.
Required Expertise:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in an analytical role, demonstrating proficiency in data interrogation, analysis, and storytelling.
- Expertise in SQL, with experience using tools like Superset or PrestoDB to query and manipulate data efficiently.
- Ability to create compelling data visualizations and reports using BI tools such as Tableau or Superset, enabling stakeholders to gain insights at a glance.
- Experience handling large datasets and conducting in-depth data analysis using Python, leveraging libraries such as Pandas and NumPy.
- Strong understanding of statistics and basic machine learning concepts, enabling you to apply analytical techniques effectively.
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, macros, and charts, allowing for sophisticated data manipulation and visualization.
- Proven ability to independently manage project work and prioritize tasks effectively, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality analyses.
- Previous experience in operational analytics would be advantageous, particularly in the context of customer support or service operations.
